Ingvild Bolme- DT Review

Filed under: General — Alana at 10:42 am on Sunday, August 24, 2008

Well as you all know we have had a few changes with the Design Team. I thought I would give a bit of a DT GIRL update or review so you can get to know them as well.  So first up from NORWAY we have Ingvild. She is a stunning artist who has not been scrapping for long…but boy has she made an impact on the scrapping world.

Ingvild Bolme - I’m from Norway, mom to a little girl born in 2006. I discovered scrapbooking by an accident in March-April 2006. Even though I fall in love with this hobby right by the way, I din’t start up seriously before the beginning of 2007. It was in 2007 I really discovered all the great possibilities that are in scrapbooking, and how “big and crazy” this scrapbookworld really is! I found out that there was tons of inspiration on the Internet, and I went crazy in online stores buying tons of products. After that I have been totally addicted! In March 2007 I decided to take part in the Norwegian Championship in scrapbooking “just for fun”, and I was almost in chock when I won the whole championship and became a Norwegian Champion in November 07! *Lucky me!* In February 2008 I started my blog and a whole new world has been opened since. In July this year I got a spot in Prima’s designteam, and there has been some guest design works and other interesting and fun offers. I am just sooo lucky, all this is as a dream come true! And I really appreciate to design for Scrapping Outback, I just love all the designs and it is a great honor to get this opportunity! Thank you Scrapping Outback for wanting me on the team, and thank you for bringing such amazingly beautiful products to the scrapbook world!

The Good: I believe I am a good mom, at least I am trying too. And maybe I am a creative person? The Bad: I just love all sorts of candy and sweets, and I’m totally addicted to coke! The Ugly: Please don’t look at my fingers when I scrap! I love to use ink and paint on my layouts, and I use my fingers to paint with…

Here is what the judges had to say from the Norway Championships Ingvild won…

Emily Falconbridge:Your style is so unique - I’m sure it is a reflection of YOU! I love your artistic approach, and that layout on the clear background is AWASOME!” Points: 20 of 20 possible.Tim Holtz: “By far the most unique scrapper I’ve seen, combined the things I have never seen before anywhere! You’re hired!” Points: 10 of 10 possible.

Well I have them up a few days late, so very sorry. I will be announcing last months winners soon. This months layout challenge will be “NOW AND THEN”. You can use this theme in your own way….you may want to rescrap some photos from when you very first started scrapbooking and show us how your style has grown or changed. Or you may use the theme as a title. Some ideas may be life then and now, your partner and you then and now, your children then and now. So many possibilities.

This months sketch is a boyish one. We have had lots of girly sketches so I thought it was time for a change.

Five Sleeps

Filed under: Annoucements, Design Team, General — Alana at 2:57 pm on Saturday, May 31, 2008

Till I leave for the Brisbane Papercraft Festival. I must say I am getting nervous, leaving the children for five nights for the first time is getting a little scary. On the other hand I cannot wait to meet everyone and see how the crowd likes our products. We have a few new releases which, includes a stunning new product that Sandra has designed.  Also we will announce the winner of the Brisbane Papercraft Festival Challenge…all ladies have posted there work to Brisbane and it will all be on display. So pop by and meet all the team from Scrapping Outback and see the new goodies!!

This month we have a guest Designer…DRUM ROLL…..Nicole Pomeroy. Nicole is a member from Scrapping Outback. We were lucky enough to Scrapjack Nicole on National Scrapbooking Day. Nicoles work is very kind to the eyes and shows lots of wonderful ways to use paints, inks etc.  here is Nicoles Blurb, I hope you enjoy her work this month.

My name is Nicole Pomeroy, I live in Central Queensland with my husband Luke and our two children Charlotte and Zac. I’ve only been scrapping since the start of 2007 and really I can’t say I have a ‘style’. Love to mix it up, and get down and messy with paint and inks, anything with texture is also very appealing. I’ve been lucky enough to have been published in Scrapbooking Memories and Scrapbook Creations, and also been involved with product challenges. I love the people I’ve met through this craft, and most of them I would now call friends, even though we don’t talk face to face, it’s nice to have that online friendship. Can’t wait to see where I’ll be off to next on this awesome ride.  The Good – friendly, encouraging, helpful, creative.  The Bad – Product Junkie, Procrastinator. The UGLY – VERY MESSY SCRAPPER (need to clean half way through a page), Hoarder (I’ll keep anything that I think will look good on a page)

This months lucky winners for the challenges are….

Sketch Challenge was Shar n.

Mothers Challenge was Mel B.
